Job description
Overview

Application Scientist (Agriculture)/Software Project Manager at Codon Genomics Sdn Bhd. This is a full-time on-site role located in Cheras Selatan, Selangor. The position focuses on project management and continuous development of AGRINOME, Codon Genomics’ software platform for oil palm breeding, seed production, and tissue culture.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of business requirements, stakeholder needs, and user expectations for AGRINOME.

  • Translate requirements into clear functional specifications and align them with project objectives.

  • Develop and maintain project plans (scope, schedule, budget, and resources) for AGRINOME releases and updates.

  • Lead kick-off meetings, status updates, and stakeholder reviews to ensure smooth communication.

  • Monitor progress against milestones and proactively identify and mitigate risks or dependencies.

  • Apply project management best practices (Agile or hybrid) to ensure efficient delivery.

  • Facilitate effective collaboration between agriculture domain experts, end-users, and developers.

  • Review AGRINOME deliverables to ensure quality, functionality, and ease of use.

  • Coordinate user training, onboarding, and documentation to maximize adoption.

  • Provide ongoing support, issue resolution, and enhancement management for AGRINOME.

  • Continuously evaluate AGRINOME to ensure it meets evolving user needs and industry trends.

Qualifications
  • Fresh graduates with a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Biotechnology, Biological Sciences, IT, Computer Science, or Project Management are encouraged to apply.

  • Strong interest in the intersection of agriculture, software, and digitization.

  • Skills in project management or business analysis (experience with software/IT projects is an advantage).

  • Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership abilities.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and adapt to changing requirements.

  • Familiarity with Agile or other project management frameworks is a plus.

  • Knowledge of oil palm breeding, seed production, or tissue culture is desirable but not required — training will be provided.
