Job summary

A leading industrial automation company is seeking a Sales Engineer to join their Penang team. You will be responsible for application and solution sales of industry devices, including sensors and IoT solutions. The role involves engaging with customers, understanding their needs, and providing technical information and training. Ideal candidates should possess a Diploma or Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering, have strong sales skills, and be team-oriented.

Location: Penang, Malaysia.


Job Purpose:

  • Application/Solution sales of industry devices like Sensors, Relays/Switches, Control Components, AI Vision systems and IoT Automation Controllers / ( + robotic experience )
  • Working knowledge of industrial communication networks is preferable
  • Marketing and sales program execution with distributors


Responsibilities:

  • Serves customers by identifying their needs and engineering adaptations of products
  • Identifies current and future customer requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential customers
  • Establishes new accounts by identifying potential customers and planning and organising sales visits and conducting product feature demonstration activities
  • Regular sales reports and updates in the CRM system
  • Prepares cost estimates by studying all related customer requests
  • Determines improvements by analyzing cost-benefit ratios of products.
  • Gains customer acceptance by explaining or demonstrating cost reductions and operations improvements
  • Develops customer's staff by providing technical information and training
  • Prepares sales engineering reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing sales information and engineering and application trends
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending internal product training and educational workshops if related
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed


Requirements

  • Possesses a Diploma or Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering
  • 0 to 3 years of related industry sales experience
  • Organized team player, able to work independently
  • Disciplined and helpful to others
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Software - Word, Excel, Power point
