Application Engineer

The candidate application data is stored on the career site servers and transmitted en-masse to the Workday tenant upon user submission. Once submitted, POST requests are made to multiple REST endpoints to send the job application data back to the Workday tenant. The system will automatically clear or timeout records after 60 minutes of inactivity if they were not submitted to Workday.

We are seeking an Application Engineer to collaborate across the Flow Control organization, providing support to the Asia Pacific Sales and Service Team. This position is based in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.

Your key responsibilities include:

1. Managing inquiries to ensure quotation proposals are technically and commercially acceptable by the sales team, adhering to company strategies and policies within deadlines.
2. Supporting Sales & Service Order Commercial processes, including contract terms, policies, approval grids, trade finance, and system support.
3. Supporting Distribution Channels with CPQ systems, establishing quotation and order handling processes with distributors.
4. Training new staff and agents on products, quotation tools, and software, as well as upgrading existing staff in AP.
5. Optimizing sales and service workflows and maintaining proper record-keeping systems.
6. Supporting sales and distribution channels by managing customer complaints and order issues, liaising with relevant departments to resolve problems.
7. Preparing and analyzing monthly reports such as order bookings, backlog, undelivered packed orders, and sales forecasts to enhance sales and service performance.
8. Collaborating across functions to meet customer expectations.
9. Responding promptly to customer inquiries and requirements.

Requirements:

• University degree
• 2-5 years of relevant experience
• Strong leadership skills
• Good understanding of operational processes and systems
• Knowledge of valves, control valve sizing, flow control principles, valve automation, actuators, and instrumentation
• Knowledge of CRM/SRM systems is a plus but not mandatory
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Proficiency in spoken and written English
• Competency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Strong administrative, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Meticulous work attitude
• Positive, motivated team player
• Experience with Salesforce, M3, SAP, or IScala systems is advantageous
• Knowledge of international delivery terms and Incoterms
• Analytical thinking and organizational skills
