As an Associate within the Commercial & Investment Bank (CIB) Wholesale KYC Operations - Production team, you will ensure compliance with procedures and practices set by the CIB KYC policy team by adhering to KYC and due diligence activities. Your responsibilities include reviewing clients' KYC documentation stored in internal repositories and publicly available information, performing screenings against relevant search engines and sanction lists, and communicating deficiencies back to the business. You will work closely with the Middle Office team to ensure timely completion of KYC due diligence activities.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Liaise with the Middle Office on client onboarding and sales for required documents and sign-off.
  2. Review client’s KYC documentation in accordance with the firm’s AML/KYC policies and procedures promptly.
  3. Validate the accuracy of data in KYC platforms and ensure the completeness of the document package.
  4. Coordinate onboarding efforts and projects to clean up data and documentation, collaborating with Client Onboarding, Compliance, Sales, and Client Service teams.
  5. Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Due Diligence expert to guide the Middle Office through KYC requirements and document variations.
  6. Conduct in-depth analysis of the client’s ownership structure using publicly available sources and documentation, seeking additional confirmations or approvals as needed.
  7. Work closely with the Middle Office to gather all necessary supporting evidence for full KYC due diligence.
  8. Manage personal workload and priorities, escalating key risks/issues to management promptly.
  9. Stay informed of process, procedural, and regulatory changes, maintaining open communication with colleagues across regions.
  10. Identify and implement process improvements, providing guidance on key process and technology initiatives.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Audit, Control, Risk, AML, or Research-related areas.
  • Strong knowledge of KYC, Compliance, and AML procedures, standards, and regulations.
  • Experience with multiple client types such as Corporates, SPV, Trusts, and FIs.
  • Experience in client Due Diligence, risk assessment, and vetting PEP & negative news.
  • Deep understanding of the financial industry across various lines of business, including Corporate Investment Banking.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and relationship-building skills.
  • Customer-focused with a strong controls mindset and service orientation.
  • Prior experience in adhering to controls and compliance standards.
  • Ability to quickly grasp and learn new concepts and procedures.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
  • Knowledge of KYC and Client onboarding processes is preferred.
  • Multilingual skills in Mandarin, Japanese, or Korean (spoken and written), especially for interactions with APAC stakeholders.
