Job summary

Baxter International Inc. is seeking a Regional Tax & Controlling professional in Malaysia to ensure US GAAP compliance, tax filings, and audits across scope countries. You will collaborate with global finance teams and external providers to optimize processes and controls.

The role requires 4–5 years of relevant experience, a master’s degree or ACCA/CIMA partially qualified, and readiness to travel internationally. Proficiency in JDE, Blackline, W-Desk, and MS Office is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4-5 years of relevant experience.
• Master’s degree in Finance/Accounting or part qualified ACCA/CIMA.
• Ability and willingness to travel internationally as required.
• Experience in JDE, Blackline and W-Desk is an advantage.
• Additional hours at critical times (e.g., month-end) may be required.
• Proven experience in a multinational environment and/or audit.
• Proven experience in indirect taxes.
• Good knowledge of US GAAP.
• Excellent communication skills, diplomatic, flexible and “can do” mindset.
• Fluent in both written and spoken English; Mandarin speaker is an added advantage.
• Strong reporting tools including MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with tax requirements in countries in scope.
• Ensure timely and accurate filings of tax returns and related reporting.
• Support tax audits and defense strategy with regional team.
• Respond to ad-hoc tax questions from authorities and departments.
• Monitor indirect tax legislation and its impact on processes.
• Collaborate with finance and non-finance teams and external providers.
• Ensure adherence to policies and strengthen financial processes and controls.
• Support local, regional, and global projects with financial input.
• Be an advocate for the finance function and drive continuous process improvement.
