Job summary

Control Risks in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Financial Services Researcher to produce enhanced due diligence reports for financial services clients in the Asia Pacific region. You will conduct in-depth research of public records, perform discreet interviews, and develop intelligence on topics and industries to support major banking transactions.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• Fluent in written and spoken Mandarin and English.
• Experience writing, researching and reviewing/editing research reports in Mandarin and English.
• Strong open-source research techniques.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with varied seniority levels.
• Analytical, critical thinker with ability to work under pressure.
• Good understanding of the APAC socio-political environment.
• Proven ability to meet project deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Project management of enhanced due diligence assignments for financial services clients.
• Conduct public records research and discreet interviews to gather intelligence.
• Draft summaries and findings on contentious issues, solo or in teams.
• Produce high-quality research reports for financial institution clients.
• Assist in scoping research, communicating with clients to understand requirements.
• Engage with clients to clarify scope and suggest further research avenues.
• Support managers in expanding research resources and subcontractors in the region.
• Coordinate with vendors and ensure quality aligns with global standards.
• Collaborate with colleagues across Control Risks to address client queries.
