RADIANT CODE SDN. BHD. is seeking a caring Animal Caretaker for our resort's mini zoo team. You will feed, clean, observe, and support guest interactions while ensuring animal welfare and safety.
This role requires practical zoo or similar environment experience, basic welfare knowledge, and the ability to work outdoors and weekends as needed.
We are looking for a caring, responsible and hands-on Animal Caretaker to join our resort’s mini zoo team.
In this role, you will help keep our animals healthy, comfortable and safe, maintain clean and secure enclosures, and support positive, responsible interactions between guests and animals. This is a practical, physically active role involving daily feeding, cleaning and close observation—not just spending time with animals.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide daily care: Prepare and serve food according to each animal’s approved diet and feeding schedule, and ensure fresh drinking water is available.
Keep animal areas clean: Clean and disinfect enclosures, feeding equipment and animal-care areas, following hygiene and waste-disposal procedures.
Monitor animal wellbeing: Observe appetite, behaviour and physical condition daily. Immediately report illness, injury, unusual behaviour or any animal death to the supervisor.
Maintain accurate records: Update feeding, cleaning, health, medication and vaccination records as required.
Support veterinary care: Assist veterinarians during check‑ups and treatment. Give medication only when trained and authorised, following veterinary instructions.
Maintain safe enclosures: Check gates, locks, fencing and equipment regularly. Report damage or hazards promptly and follow procedures to prevent animal escapes.
Monitor supplies: Keep track of animal feed, care supplies and cleaning materials, ensuring proper storage and timely replenishment.
Guide guests responsibly: Share basic information about the animals and supervise approved feeding or interaction activities, prioritising animal welfare and guest safety.
Follow care and safety procedures: Support approved enrichment activities and follow animal-handling, quarantine and emergency procedures.
Practical experience in a zoo, petting farm, animal park, veterinary clinic, animal shelter, pet-boarding centre or similar environment.
A certificate or diploma in Animal Science, Veterinary Nursing, Wildlife Management, Zoology or a related field is an advantage. Relevant hands‑on experience is also valued.
Confidence handling animals safely, with the ability to recognise personal limits and seek assistance when needed.
Basic knowledge of animal welfare, hygiene and safe animal-handling practices.
A patient, observant and dependable team member who is comfortable with outdoor work, routine cleaning and physically active duties.
A friendly, safety‑conscious approach when communicating with resort guests.
Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays according to a duty roster.
