Job summary

Luxoft seeks an experienced Android Developer for a digital banking Android application in its Kuala Lumpur technology centre. You will contribute to developing, enhancing, and maintaining customer-facing banking apps, leveraging Kotlin and Java, APIs, and backend services.

The role requires collaboration across QA, BAs, backend, and DevOps within an Agile environment. Experience with Android architecture, CI/CD practices, and strong debugging skills will be valued as you participate in

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in Android application development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Android Kotlin.
• Strong hands-on experience with Android Java.
• Good understanding of Android application architecture and development lifecycle.
• Experience with API consumption and integration.
• Working knowledge of Oracle Database.
• Experience in Linux/Solaris/HPUX environments.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of software development and release lifecycle.
• Good communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain Digital Banking Android applications based on business and technical requirements.
• Deliver project requirements and change requests within agreed timelines and quality standards.
• Develop mobile application features using Android Kotlin and Java.
• Analyze requirements and translate them into scalable and maintainable Android solutions.
• Integrate Android applications with backend services and APIs.
• Perform unit testing, integration testing, debugging, and defect resolution.
• Troubleshoot application issues and provide timely fixes for production and development environments.
• Work with Oracle databases for application data validation and troubleshooting where required.
• Support application builds, releases, and mobile deployment activities.
• Collaborate with QA, Business Analysts, backend developers, DevOps, and other technology teams throughout the development lifecycle.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain technical documentation and provide project and delivery status updates.

They work closely together to harness the power of technology to support our physical and digital banking services and operations. This includes developing, centralising and standardising technology systems as well as banking operations in Malaysia and overseas branches.The client has more than 80 years of history in the banking industry and is expanding its footprint in Malaysia.The selected resource will be working in a newly setup technology centre located in Kuala Lumpur as part of Technology and Operations to deliver innovative financial technology solutions that enable business growth and technology transformation.
