Key Responsibilities
  • Works as a member of the Penang Analytical Laboratory (PAL) Team to complete all required analysis in a timely manner.
  • Capable of operating analytical instruments (HPLC, GCFID/MS, Karl Fischer, Dissolution Apparatus, UV-Vis, and FTIR).
  • Prepares buffers, mobile phases, reagents, and media needed for analysis.
  • Provides testing evaluation of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products samples based on specifications.
  • Performs investigations into suspected analytical lab testing results (e.g., OOS, OOT, atypical data).
  • Interprets and applies department policies, procedures, laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Follows Standard Operating Procedures, global methods, local methods, and published standards (USP, AOCS, ASTM).
  • Determines dispositions for all sample lots with test results outside specified limits.
  • Uses analytical and problem-solving skills to address manufacturing issues related to Analytical Chemistry and contamination.
  • Maintains calibration of laboratory equipment as per calibration procedures.
  • Troubleshoots analytical equipment and associated lab software.
  • Performs analytical equipment qualifications and method validation/verification activities.
  • Maintains standardization and replenishment of all laboratory solutions and reagents.
  • Ensures all unnecessary samples are properly disposed of and labeled.
Requirements
  • BSc or higher in chemistry or relevant scientific discipline.
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel).
  • Ability to follow all methods and procedures in strict compliance with FDA cGLP guidelines.
  • Comfortable working on individual projects and participating in team efforts across functions to meet tight deadlines.
  • Practical laboratory experience and expertise.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience with HPLC, GCFID/MS, and other analytical instruments.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, oral, visual) for effective interaction at all organizational levels.
