Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Analyst 3, Inventory Control to join our team in Batu Kawan, Malaysia. In this role, you will be responsible for optimizing inventory levels, improving inventory accuracy, and enhancing overall supply chain efficiency.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement
- Develop and implement inventory control strategies to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.
- Utilize ERP systems and tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, MES) to maintain inventory data accuracy and integrity.
- Prepare regular reports and dashboards on inventory performance metrics (e.g., turnover, days on hand, stockouts).
- Conduct regular cycle counts and reconciliations to ensure inventory accuracy
- Generate and analyze inventory reports to support decision-making processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize stock levels and reduce excess inventory
- Forecast demand and plan inventory requirements to meet business needs
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in inventory records
- Recommend process improvements, digitalization and automation to enhance inventory management practices.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inventory control
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of inventory management systems
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in inventory management processes.
- Support internal and external audits related to inventory control.
- Train and mentor junior analysts or warehouse personnel on inventory procedures and systems.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in inventory control or related field.
- Proficient in SAP Warehouse Management System (WMS), with strong technical knowledge to support and troubleshoot warehouse and inventory processes.
- Knowledge of industry-standard inventory control frameworks (e.g., APICS CPIM) and tools such as MRP/ERP systems, WMS, and inventory management software.
Preferred
- Advanced proficiency in inventory management software and warehouse management systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency in demand forecasting models, inventory optimization techniques, and supply planning strategies to maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing carrying costs and stockouts.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and database management.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
- Professional certification in inventory management (e.g., CPIM, CSCP) preferred.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Experience
- Demonstrated success in reducing inventory discrepancies and improving stock accuracy through root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Proven ability to lead and execute physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and reconciliation processes with high accuracy and compliance.
- Hands-on experience in designing and implementing inventory control procedures, audits, and reporting tools to ensure process integrity.
- Track record of optimizing inventory levels through data-driven analysis, demand forecasting, and collaboration with planning and procurement teams.
- Experience in managing aged and slow-moving inventory, including driving disposal, rework, or reclassification actions.
- Successfully led cross-functional initiatives to improve warehouse efficiency, scrap handling, and inventory visibility.
- Consistent track record of using SAP or other WMS/ERP systems to monitor, report, and improve inventory control KPIs.
- Played a key role in internal/external audit readiness and compliance, with documented improvements in audit scoring or findings reduction.
- History of driving or supporting digitalization/automation efforts in inventory control processes.
