Job Description - AM, Transportation & Forwarder Management APAC Region (MER0003M63)

Description

We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Assistant Manager, Transportation & Forwarder Management to support the end-to-end management of our road transportation network across the APAC region. In this role, you will assist in transportation planning, supplier/forwarder management, and cost-saving initiatives, ensuring operational excellence and alignment with global standards.

You will be supporting the managing of the full life circle of our road transportation network in the APAC region:

1. Transportation Planning Management:
   Transportation planning Management & contract phase: from concept / specifications book - contract making to supplier awarding
2. Supplier Management:
   Management of the supplier implementation to ensure go-live and day-to-day operations quality management when supplier performance is not meeting to our MB expectations & specifications.
3. Support to L5 Manager:
   You will support the L5 manager in his role and you will be his deputy.
4. Road Forwarder Contract Management:
   You will support the road forwarder contract management of the approx. 10 logistics centres in the Asia Pacific region; and work closely together with and under guidance of CoC colleagues in Germany, Spain and N-America.
5. Cost Saving Initiatives:
   You support the spare part logistics transportation cost saving initiative in APAC with approx. 5-10 transportation tenders per year and other transport related projects (e.g. central program of reduction of variable costs) together with the team in Germany and other central departments (planning/strategy, purchase, sales).
6. Project Management:
   You make sure that transportation projects/tenders are managed on time and on target and drive the day-to-day decision-making.
7. Overall Project Management Support:
   You support in the safeguarding of the overall project management in road transportation projects (project milestone quality gates, steering committees, working groups, alignment calls with the APAC logistics, escalation meetings with forwarders and the purchase department).
8. Transportation Queries Support:
   You will support Transportation related queries and adhoc activities and requests, related to the transportation setup, strategy or required modifications in all the APAC LCs/RLC.
9. GCSP Global Forwarder Quality Management System:
   Support in the set-up & ramp-up of the GCSP global forwarder quality management system within the APAC region for road transportation including forwarder potential analysis (OSA-onsite assessments, preventive & reactive actions/ audits & forwarder development programs).
10. Forwarder Quality Management:
    Enable forwarder quality mgmt. in qualification programs (such as auditing, implementation of quality tools & the establishment of a standard quality approach).
11. Lessons-Learned and Training Initiatives:
    Drive lessons-learned and training initiatives to permanently improve the project quality, supplier performance and qualification of relevant stakeholders (own staff or other APAC operations).
12. Process Optimization:
    Support in optimizing the planning and purchasing processes and in the development of new methods to accelerate processes and make them more flexible.
13. Escalation Initiatives:
    Ensure implementation and day-to-day 2nd level escalation initiatives towards freight suppliers to ensure MB specifications.

Qualifications

Education:
· Master or bachelor degree in business engineering, business, transportation, purchase or equivalent.

Experience:

1. · Min 3 years related working experience in Automotive business, corporate business
2. · Solid MS office background (Powerpoint, Excel, Word; BI)
3. · Data analyst skill (MS BI, Dashboard and Control Tower know-how)
4. · Experience in Supply Chain or Logistics Management
5. · Experience in Customer Relationship Management
6. · Ability to work with different cultures, languages & mindsets.
7. · Relevant work experience as Project Manager, Purchaser, Consultant and/or logistics manager in demanding line functions.
8. · Solid experience in logistics/supply chain management preferably with an international freight forwarder, industrial or trading company
9. · Auditor training (internal or external) e.g. VDA- or APQP-standard
10. · Analytical, strategic, and conceptual skills, strong communication skills (e.g.: conflict management, escalation reviews with suppliers etc.)
11. · Knowledge of Lean Management

Ability to story tell complex solutions in easy language & writing, team player and excellent organizational and empowered and with strong communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
13. · The person we are looking needs be passionate about making great Powerpoint presentations and needs to have a good story telling mindset.

Specific Knowledge:
· Excellent computer skills especially in MS Office - Word, Excel and especially in PowerPoint & Data Analysis
