Job summary

Cygnify is seeking an experienced Alteryx Automation Data Analyst to transform and automate regulatory reporting processes across APAC markets. You will analyze source data and current manual procedures, reverse‑engineer Excel logic, and convert it into scalable Alteryx workflows.

The role requires strong business/data analysis, data profiling and mapping, and hands-on Alteryx development, with exposure to APAC reporting requirements and data governance standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT/Engineering/Finance or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience as Data Analyst or Alteryx Developer/Analyst.
• Experience in Banking/Financial Services/Insurance regulatory reporting automation.
• Exposure to APAC regulatory reporting requirements (Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, India, Australia, Indonesia, Thailand).
• Strong SQL skills for data extraction, profiling, analysis and validation.
• Hands-on experience with Alteryx Designer and Alteryx Server/Gallery deployment.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, lookups, VBA).
• Familiar with Power BI, Tableau, Python or similar analytics tools.
• Excellent stakeholder communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Engage with business and regulatory reporting stakeholders across APAC to understand requirements, rules, calculations, validations and submission processes.
• Document existing As-Is reporting processes including Excel spreadsheets, VBA/macros, manual adjustments and data transformations.
• Translate regulatory and business requirements into detailed functional and data requirements for automation.
• Identify country-specific reporting requirements across APAC markets.

Job description

Our Client is looking for an experienced Alteryx Automation Data Analyst to support the transformation and automation of regulatory reporting processes across APAC markets.

The role will work closely with business, regulatory reporting, finance/risk, data, and technology stakeholders to understand existing reporting requirements, analyze source data and current manual processes, and convert Excel macro-based, spreadsheet-driven, and manual transformation logic into automated Alteryx workflows.

The successful candidate should combine strong business/data analysis skills, data profiling and mapping experience, and hands‑on Alteryx workflow development capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Reporting Requirements

• Engage with business and regulatory reporting stakeholders across APAC regions to understand reporting requirements, business rules, calculations, validations, and submission processes.
• Document existing As-Is reporting processes, including Excel spreadsheets, VBA/macros, manual adjustments, data transformations, reconciliations, and dependencies.
• Translate regulatory and business requirements into detailed functional and data requirements for automation.
• Identify common and country‑specific reporting requirements across APAC markets.

Data Profiling & Analysis

• Perform detailed data profiling across source systems, databases, files, and reporting datasets.
• Analyze data structures, formats, completeness, quality, consistency, duplicates, and anomalies.
• Identify data gaps and work with business and technology teams to resolve data quality issues.
• Validate source data against existing regulatory reports and business expectations.

Data Mapping & Business Rules

• Develop detailed Source-to-Target Mapping (STTM) documents covering: Source systems and tables/files, Source attributes, Target reporting fields, Transformation rules, Calculation logic, Lookup and reference data, Data quality rules, Reconciliation logicReverse-engineer existing Excel formulas, VBA macros, manual logic, and business calculations.
• Convert complex spreadsheet logic into clearly defined transformation and automation rules.

Alteryx Automation

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Alteryx workflows to automate regulatory reporting processes.
• Migrate existing Excel macro/VBA and manual processing into scalable and maintainable Alteryx workflows.
• Automate Data extraction and ingestion, Data cleansing and standardisation, Data transformation, Business rule execution, Aggregation and calculations, Reconciliation, Data quality validation, Exception handling, Regulatory report generation
• Develop reusable Alteryx components and workflow patterns wherever applicable.
• Optimise workflows for performance, maintainability, and scalability.
• Perform unit testing and support SIT/UAT for automated workflows.
• Reconcile Alteryx-generated outputs against existing production regulatory reports.
• Perform record-level, field-level, and aggregate-level validation.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies between existing Excel/manual outputs and automated results.
• Maintain evidence and documentation to support regulatory and audit requirements.

Documentation & Governance

• Prepare process flows, business requirement documents, mapping specifications, workflow documentation, and test scenarios.
• Ensure automated workflows follow appropriate data governance, security, access control, and change‑management standards.
• Support knowledge transfer and handover to business and production support teams.

Our Ideal Candidate

• Has a Bachelor's Degree in IT/Engineering/Finance or other related field.
• Has at least 5 years of experience as a Data Analyst, Business Data Analyst, or Alteryx Developer/Analyst.
• Has industry exposure within Banking, Financial Services, or Insurance, with a focus on regulatory reporting automation initiatives.
• Has exposure to APAC regulatory reporting requirements, including markets such as Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, India, Australia, Indonesia or Thailand.
• Has a good understanding of regulatory, finance, risk, or compliance datasets.
• Has experience with Alteryx Server/Gallery, workflow scheduling, and production deployment.
• Has hands‑on experience with Alteryx Designer and development of complex data preparation and automation workflows, Data profiling, Data mapping, Data transformation, Data reconciliation, Data quality analysis and Requirements gathering.
• Has advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and macros/VBA.
• Familiar with Power BI, Tableau, Python, or other data analytics technologies would be advantageous.
• Can understand and reverse‑engineer complex Excel‑based reporting processes.
• Has strong SQL skills for data extraction, profiling, analysis, and validation.
• Has experience working with structured and semi‑structured datasets from databases, Excel, CSV, flat files, and other enterprise data sources.
• Can translate business and regulatory requirements into technical transformation logic.
• Has strong stakeholder communication and documentation skills.
