Job summary

DHL IT Services is seeking an AI Platform Software Engineer to join the Platform Engineering Transformation Team in Cyberjaya. You will help build and improve the Agentic AI Platform that hosts AI agents, handling development, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance.

You'll work with Java, Python, Google ADK, React, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Google GKE, and Apigee Gateway, collaborating with teams across locations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a software engineering role with a solid understanding of DevOps and software development.
• Proficient in CI/CD and DevOps; scripting languages.
• Proficient in at least one programming language: Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with AI Agent development.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, Git, Kafka, and monitoring tools is advantageous.

As an AI Platform Software Engineer within the Platform Engineering Transformation Team, you will be at the center of this journey.

You will help bring to life and continuously improve the Agentic AI Platform, an internal development platform for hosting AI agents. This involves development, configuration, monitoring, verification, and maintenance. The roles of service and product ownership are also part of the job.

We currently use Java, Python, Google ADK, React, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Google GKE, and Apigee Gateway technologies, among others. The product currently hosts AI agents, mostly written in Python and Google ADK, and works with GitHub, Artifactory, GitHub Actions, SonarQube, and more.

Our platform and tools serve thousands of engineering and management colleagues across the company. You will work with a team of highly skilled and engaged professionals in multiple locations, bring new ideas to life, and find ways to continuously bring more innovation, integration, and developer experience into our services.

Major responsibilities and requirements

• Platform development – “From idea to deployment”
  • Proven experience in a software engineering role or a similar position, with a solid understanding of DevOps and software development.
  • Proficient in CI/CD and DevOps. Experience with scripting languages.
  • Proficient in at least one programming language: Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Experience with AI Agent development or
  • Knowledge of related technologies such as K8S (GKE, AKS or OpenShift), Git, Kafka, and/or application monitoring (Grafana, Prometheus, Loki) is advantageous.
• Platform maintenance and support – “You build it, you run it”.
  • Product administration and technical third-level support, including patching and bug fixing, are integral parts of the job.
  • Good familiarity with cloud services, particularly Google Cloud, along with Kubernetes, containerization, infrastructure, and networking concepts.
  • Experience with hosting or developing software development tools and monitoring them is a plus.
• Collaboration
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to express opinions openly and a commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Willingness and flexibility to adjust working hours to better align with EU-based users is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail are essential for this role.
