Job summary

MetLife is seeking a Junior AI Engineer (Full Stack Engineering) to design, build, test, deploy and maintain cloud-native applications with an AI-first approach. You will own quality, security, reliability and production readiness while applying strong full-stack capabilities.

The role focuses on translating business outcomes into technical specs, driving architectural decisions, and delivering observable, scalable systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience developing enterprise applications with modern full-stack, API, data and cloud tech.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted software delivery, GitHub Enterprise, and GitHub Copilot.
• Exposure to Azure AI Foundry, Copilot SDK, Semantic Kernel, AI agents, RAG, and LLM patterns preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, API-first development, DDD, and shift-left quality and security.

Responsibilities

• Apply AI-first engineering practices across all phases of the lifecycle.
• Translate business outcomes into technical specs, architecture decisions, and acceptance criteria.
• Build secure, scalable, resilient, observable full-stack solutions.
• Use AI responsibly to boost engineering productivity and delivery quality.
• Collaborate with product, architecture, security, operations, and business teams.
• Support incident resolution, automation, and continuous improvement efforts.
