Job summary

JP Caliber in Malaysia (Puchong) is seeking an AI Engineer to join an innovative AI team focused on Generative AI, LLMs, and intelligent automation. The role involves R&D, building AI-powered solutions, and collaborating with customers to deliver impactful AI applications.

Responsibilities include developing AI pipelines, fine-tuning LLMs, and engaging with cross-functional teams to translate AI capabilities into scalable software. English proficiency required; Mandarin/Cantonese is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, AI, ML, Data Science or related field.
• 2–5 years of AI Engineering, ML/NLP experience with hands-on deployment.
• Strong Python programming skills and experience with ML frameworks.
• Familiarity with vector databases (Pinecone, Milvus, Weaviate, FAISS).
• Experience building AI prototypes or R&D projects; exposure to pre-sales adds value.
• Excellent English; Mandarin/Cantonese helpful for HK team.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct research and development (R&D) activities to design, prototype, and develop innovative AI solutions using emerging technologies.

• Build and enhance Generative AI applications involving Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI agents, and conversational AI systems.

• Design, develop, and optimize AI pipelines for information retrieval, knowledge management, and intelligent automation use cases.

• Develop AI-powered solutions capable of understanding user intent, managing conversations, and performing automated tasks through AI agents.

• Implement and improve NLP/NLU/NLG solutions such as text generation, information extraction, entity recognition, and conversational AI capabilities.

• Work with vector databases and indexing technologies to support efficient data retrieval and AI application performance.

• Fine-tune and optimize LLMs through prompt engineering and model improvement techniques based on business requirements.

• Collaborate with software engineering, product, and business teams to translate AI capabilities into practical and scalable solutions.

• Support technical pre-sales activities by engaging with customers, understanding business requirements, presenting AI solutions, conducting demonstrations, and preparing technical proposals.

• Stay updated with the latest AI research, tools, and industry trends to continuously improve AI solutions and capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field.

• Minimum 2 - 5 years of experience in AI Engineering, Machine Learning Engineering, NLP, or related fields.

• Hands-on experience developing and deploying AI/ML solutions in real-world environments.

• Strong experience with:

  • Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs)

  • Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)

  • Prompt Engineering

  • Conversational AI / AI Agents

  • Natural Language Processing (NLP)

• Strong programming skills in Python.

• Experience with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar frameworks.

• Familiarity with vector databases such as Pinecone, Milvus, Weaviate, FAISS, or equivalent technologies.

• Experience building AI prototypes, proof-of-concepts (POCs), or R&D projects is highly preferred.

• Exposure to technical pre-sales, customer engagement, solution consulting, or AI solution demonstrations will be an added advantage.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Good command of English is required. Mandarin and/or Cantonese proficiency will be an advantage due to collaboration with the Hong Kong team.
