Job summary

PointStar is seeking a passionate Developer Intern in Malaysia to build AI-powered internal applications using open-source tech. You will collaborate with product managers and developers to design, build, and deploy innovative solutions with the aim of commercializing them.

You will explore AI model integration, contribute to open-source projects, and follow best coding practices while documenting architecture and APIs for future reference.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Willing to join for a minimum of 6 months with commitment.
• Basic understanding of machine learning principles and AI algorithms.
• Familiarity with open-source software development and related tools (e.g., Git, GitHub).
• Exposure to popular machine learning libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
• Experience in building and deploying web applications.
• Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, or other specialised AI areas.
• Contribution to open-source projects or personal AI projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI-powered Applications: Design, develop, and deploy AI-driven apps to streamline internal workflows and potential products.
• Open Source Contribution: Use open-source frameworks and libraries to build scalable code.
• Collaborate with Teams: Work with product managers and developers to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Prototype and Experiment: Rapid prototyping, testing, and iteration based on feedback.
• AI Model Integration: Implement and fine-tune ML models for real-world use with performance and scalability.
• Code Review & Best Practices: Follow coding standards and contribute to process improvements.
• Documentation: Document development processes, architecture, and APIs clearly.
