Job summary

HaruPlate seeks an AI & Automation Engineer to join our Malaysia team, helping design, build, and deploy intelligent workflows that support our AI consumer retail initiatives. You will prototype with vibe code, refactor existing systems, and collaborate across departments to turn ideas into scalable solutions.

We value a strong technical mindset, experience with React, Python, GCP/AWS, REST APIs and Google Workspace, and the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical colleagues.

Qualifications

• Background in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong programming foundation with data structures and APIs.
• Familiarity with Google Workspace and cloud platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prototype applications using vibe code for rapid prototyping.
• Refactor code and setup systems and applications.
• Document workflows for future reference and for the team.

Job Description: AI & Automation Engineer

The Role:

We're seeking ambitious and driven automation engineers to help build the future of HaruPlate in the age of AI Consumer Retail. In this role, you'll be a key part of our digital transformation efforts, responsible for designing, building, and deploying intelligent workflows.

This is not a traditional AI role focused on building machine learning models from scratch. Instead, you'll be leveraging a mix of vibe coding and software engineering to achieve your goals.

You'll work directly with different teams across the company to understand their needs and create efficient, scalable solutions that save time and reduce manual effort.

Key Projects & Responsibilities:

Your role will be focused on a few core projects that are critical to our growth.

• Vibe code for prototyping: To test and launch applications for rapid prototyping
• Refactoring of code and setup of systems and applications: The real deal where you bring your tested ideas to reality.
• Documentation: You will be responsible for documenting the workflows you create for future reference and for the rest of the team.
• Have fun from back end to front end!

Who We're Looking For:

• Background in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• REACT, Python, GCP, AWS, R is a plus
• A strong foundational understanding of programming logic, data structures, and APIs - a strong technical mindset is crucial.
• Experience or comfort with concepts like webhooks, REST APIs, and JSON.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and an analytical approach.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into simple terms for non-technical stakeholders.
• A proactive, can-do attitude with a willingness to learn new technologies and systems quickly.
• Google Workspace stack (e.g., Google Sheets, Google Docs), but you'll have the freedom to explore and integrate other applications as needed.

Pay: Up to RM6,000.00 per month
