We are seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our HPS/LSS team at the Puchong office, reporting to the Field Service Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical and consulting support for industrial process control and automation platforms, especially Honeywell Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
- Understand customer control processes and economic drivers; translate these into business opportunities.
- Provide guidance on Honeywell's DCS products, application, lifecycle management, best practices, and cost benefits.
- Design, configure, and troubleshoot EPKS Servers and HMI software.
- Analyze and optimize industrial control systems.
- Maintain hardware and linked DCS equipment.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair control system issues using standard tools.
- Coordinate with the Global Technical Assistance Center and act as the liaison between the customer and Honeywell.
- Support client server architecture.
- Understand PID controllers and their integration with process machinery.
- Respond to emergency calls and resolve issues efficiently.
- Lead on-site support personnel and serve as the main contact for Honeywell-related matters.
- Document all work accurately, demonstrating effective communication skills.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on control system hardware/software.
- Apply cloud computing and virtualization technologies, such as VMware, in industrial control systems.
- Troubleshoot and understand Open Platform Communications (OPC).
- Support contract renewals and asset management, including licensing verification.
Key Experience & Capabilities:
- 3-5 years' experience in field service and industrial process control systems.
- Field process experience preferred.
- Knowledge of PKS Experion hardware and software, including virtualization.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred; PC and networking skills essential.
- Strong electronics and instrumentation background.
- Experience with third-party controls.
- Project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Deep understanding of process control.
- Ability to work with electronic test equipment.
- Role will involve on-site project maintenance and execution.
