ExxonMobil in MalaysiaExxonMobil is one of the world's largest publicly traded energy providers and chemical manufacturers. ExxonMobil develops and applies next-generation technologies to help safely and responsibly meet the world's growing needs for energy and high-quality chemical products.
In Malaysia, we are involved in significant oil and gas production operations and the marketing of chemical products. We also host a global business and technology center in Kuala Lumpur that provides high-level information technology and engineering expertise to ExxonMobil's upstream, downstream and chemical businesses worldwide.
What role you will play in our team- You will be part of our exciting and rapidly expanding Kuala Lumpur Process Control team working and collaborating on a global scale.
- Depending on your experience level, you will be designated either as a senior, mid or entry-level process control engineer.
- As a member of the team and depending on your experience level, you will either be sustaining our suite of process control assets across the globe, improving the unit performance or energy use or be actively involved in scoping, developing and deploying new applications across our business lines in Product Solutions or Upstream.
- This position is not limited to Malaysians only.
What you will do- Develop and implement regulatory and advanced control applications at ExxonMobil facilities globally.
- Develop and leverage cutting-edge tools and techniques to improve the delivery effectiveness of process control applications.
- Provide expert technical support to ExxonMobil refineries, chemicals and upstream facilities globally on base and advanced control applications as well as support for capital projects development.
- Design new or modify existing process control schematics to improve operators' ability to respond to abnormal situations.
- Improve abnormal event detection capability and alarm management at ExxonMobil refineries and chemical facilities worldwide.
- Participate in developing and deploying technology extension programs, R&D and innovative next-generation process control tools.
- Specifically for those with senior level engineer experience:
- Provide technical leadership and drive cross collaboration to enable the above work activities on a global scale.
- Maintain highest level of expertise in technical discipline and be acknowledged as a leading expert.
- Promote innovative solutions that maximize value and support global business priorities.
- Serve as a technical mentor to other team members to enhance their functional skill proficiencies and drive competency development strategy in the Process Control discipline.
About youSkills and Qualifications- Degree in Chemical Engineering.
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience in designing and implementing effective control applications for downstream refining, petrochemical industry or upstream facilities.
- Working knowledge in one or more of the following:
- Distributed Control System (DCS) software and hardware platforms.
- Model predictive control software.
- Programming languages.
- Data analytics and visualization.
- Steady State and Dynamic Simulation Tools.
