Key Responsibilities

• Possess a comprehensive understanding of control system principles and design.
• Translate customer requirements into a clear scope definition.
• Assess the customer site for installation requirements and design.
• Assist sales with innovative use of technology in establishing system design and provide project estimates for non‑contract work.
• Prepare submittals per engineering standards, ensuring commitment dates are met.
• Support project controls with planning and scheduling, and attend relevant design meetings.
• Develop and test software, deliver commissioning packages, and support field start‑up activities.
• Provide direction to project teams, manage consultants, and support field commissioning staff.
• Ensure defect‑free delivery through Quality Assurance, maintaining compliance with client, legislative, and engineering standards.
• Apply OH&S principles, participate in safety audits, and contribute to safe design solutions.
• Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to achieve cohesive project outcomes and share technical knowledge.

Key Experience & Capabilities

• Degree in engineering or related discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics).
• At least 10 years of experience in control system projects, preferably Security, Critical Control Systems, or Integrated Systems.
• Proficient intermediate to advanced computer skills; advantageous knowledge of networking, storage, and database technologies.
• Proven ability to work within multi‑disciplinary engineering teams.
• Familiar with current trends in IT and technology relevant to engineering and automation.
• Experience managing and working with complex control and automation systems.
• Track record in a project engineering capacity delivering control system projects.
• Strong technical foundation in building automation systems, emphasizing HVAC controls, lighting management, and energy optimization.
• Understanding of communication protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and TCP/IP networking.
• Proficiency in interpreting electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and system architecture diagrams.
