What is the opportunity?

Our client is a specialist provider of asset services, custody, payments, and treasury services. Founded in 1864, they are the 10th largest bank worldwide and the 5th in North America, as measured by market capitalization. They are recognized for their financial strength, market leadership, and philanthropic work.

They have a processing centre supporting 10 countries across three time zones, employing a Global Operating Model to maximize efficiencies and support a 24/5 operational capability. The objectives for Malaysia include enhancing scalability, improving service quality via centres of excellence, and implementing standardized processes globally.

This role is within the Securities Operations department of Wealth Management Asia. The department handles processes such as Corporate Actions & Life Cycle Management, Securities & Equity Derivatives Settlement, Asset Transfers & Funds Settlement, and Regulatory Reporting. The role involves ownership of related tasks and contributing across operational functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of Securities & Derivatives transactions according to SLAs, and handling queries from internal and external parties.

What will you do?

  • Process Securities & Derivatives Settlement, Corporate Action Events, and Asset Transfers accurately and timely, covering products like Equity, Fixed Income, ETFs, Structured Notes, Equity Derivatives, Mutual Funds.
  • Ensure mutual fund transactions are captured accurately, verified, instructions sent, payments processed, trade settlement completed, and client advisories sent.
  • Process trailer fees received from fund houses to stakeholders.
  • Ensure all transactions comply with bank rules, circulars, procedures, and local requirements.
  • Manage requests and queries within stipulated timeframes.
  • Adhere to control points and perform cash/security break investigations and escalations.
  • Follow escalation protocols and participate in process improvements, projects, and testing.
  • Apply RBC values and participate in learning and development courses.
  • Provide relief support and cross-train on all functions.

  • Experience in Securities Operations preferred.
  • Knowledge of global corporate actions & settlements practices.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal).

Familiarity with Avaloq, Omgeo CTM & Alert, Bloomberg.
