Job description

Job Summary:

This role supports the Chief Reserving Actuary in delivering a wide range of responsibilities. The role is expected to perform more complex actuarial analyses related to reserving, reporting, and quantitative risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise annual and quarterly valuations of general insurance liabilities in accordance with generally accepted actuarial principles and local/group requirements.
  • Prepare the Financial Condition Report (“FCR”).
  • Collaborate with the Finance team for the yearly planning cycle and the Full Year Forecast exercise throughout the year.
  • Perform stress testing and Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP) in accordance with internal and Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) guidelines.
  • Support IFRS17 implementation.
  • Provide recommendations on surplus distribution to participants and shareholders.
  • Identify key trends in portfolio experience and provide recommendations to the business.
  • Perform independent review on product pricing.

Your skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science or Mathematics.
  • Good exam progress from an internationally recognized actuarial association.
  • At least 2 years of relevant working experience.
  • Able to manage multiple stakeholders across the business and contacts at regional or head office levels.
  • Serious and professional attitude towards regulatory compliance with attention to detail to support accuracy.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to manage and meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply and will be considered for the Analyst position.
