Job description
Overview

Develop, optimize and release active alignment process for high-volume manufacturing and ensure precise alignment of optical components to achieve and exceed target performance metric.

Lead transition from R&D to mass production of the new product, technology and manufacturing process. Train and mentor production teams in the active alignment process, ensuring consistent performance and compliance with quality requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Define manufacturing concepts including equipment concept, process flow, process requirement profile, and technical specifications.
  • Approve process readiness and documentation including Process FMEA, Process Control Plan, Process Buy-off reports and Work instructions.
  • Achieve process capability and stability using Six Sigma methodology.
  • Design experiments (DoE) and analyze results using statistical methods to define process window and enhance process capability and yield.
  • Specify new equipment requirements and drive equipment development and improvement with equipment suppliers.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement activities for efficiency gains, first pass yield and quality improvement.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Design, Product Engineering, Process Integration, Yield Engineering, Maintenance, Failure Analysis and Quality teams to identify and resolve issues.
  • Summarize complex problems, develop actions to address them, and build consensus across teams to drive solutions.
  • Define and achieve sub-milestones and deliverables within overall program timelines.
  • Train and mentor production teams in the active alignment process to ensure consistent performance and quality compliance.
  • Support and contribute to process and equipment roadmap activities and stay up to date with state-of-the-art developments.
Requirements

Knowledge

  • Understanding of manufacturing processes in optical or semiconductor industry

Technical/Work-based Skills

  • Proficiency with data analysis, DoE, and statistical techniques
  • Problem solving methods
  • Experience in programming (e.g., Python or C++) is a plus
  • Experience in image analysis and image processing is a plus

General Skills/Attributes

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and team-building skills
  • Target-driven with high execution focus

Experience
