Job Description & Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with Malaysian accounting standards (MPERS/MFRS), tax regulations, and
  • statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate and liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and relevant regulatory authorities.
  • Manage and monitor cash flow, budgeting, and financial planning.
  • Develop and implement internal control policies and procedures to enhance financial accuracy
  • and risk mitigation.
  • Manage, supervise, and mentor junior accounting staff.
  • Handle corporate tax matters including SST, income tax, and withholding tax.
  • Work closely with other departments to support overall business strategies and decisions.
  • Participate in strategic planning, cost reduction, and financial performance improvement
  • initiatives.
  • Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and legislation relevant to Malaysia.
  • Oversee and ensure timely processing of payroll and reimbursement of employee expenses.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all accounting-related inquiries and decision-making.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with bankers, the company secretary, auditors,
  • and other key external stakeholders.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent are preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian financial regulations, taxation laws, and accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software - Autocount, Xero or similar.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.
