Accountable for the financial operations of the company, including active support of the company’s business direction.
Corporate planning and strategy
Assist in formulating the group's future direction and supporting strategic and tactical initiatives.
Actively participate in management meetings and making key decisions as a member of the management team.
Develop financial and tax strategies.
Financial operations
Oversee accounting, finance, tax and treasury operations.
Design controls and approve financial transactions.
Oversee the issuance of financial information.
Review and approve audit and financial reports.
Maintain relations with auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations.
Create and propose on-time tailor-made reports for management needs.
Group treasury
Monitor cash levels and forecasts, FX exposure.
Invest funds (benchmarked to Bank Negara Malaysia’s Overnight Policy Rate).
Part of the investment committee for asset acquisition (business ventures, real estate, etc.).
Secondary Role
Prepare on-time and accurate project analysis.
Maintain harmony within the department as well as with other departments.
Work closely with all other Heads of Departments to enhance the smooth operations within the company.
Propose to management on project-based cash flow and costing status.
Work out seasonal project costing by organizing discussion sessions with relevant departments and propose to management timely.
Nurture the next of kind within the department.
Control and maintain the accounts department's efficient and effective filing system.
Qualification
Possess a Degree in Accountancy or Professional Accountancy Qualification, preferably with Cost Management Accounting.
Experience
Strong leadership qualities, strategic thinking, strong business operations and control experience.
At least 10 years of working experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
At least the most recent 5 years’ experience at the senior management level.
2-3 years in an external audit environment, preferably with Big 4 audit firms.
Skills & Knowledge
Possess coaching skills on work techniques, technical accounting, and relevant management skills.
Competent in various finance, tax, treasury, and other regulatory compliance.
High level of numerical and analytical skills.
High degree of financial knowledge and excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
Familiar with computerized accounting systems.
Proficient in English, Chinese, and Bahasa Malaysia with strong written communication skills.
Ability to use Microsoft business software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia; candidates fluent in Mandarin are a MUST as the role requires dealing with overseas speaking clients and business associates.
