Job summary

A leading company in the entertainment sector is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations. Candidates should possess a Diploma or Degree in Accounting along with relevant experience in managing full accounting functions. Your role will include financial reporting, budgeting, and implementing internal controls. This position requires strong communication skills across multiple languages and the use of Xero and Excel.

Qualifications

  • 2 to 3 years of relevant working experience, preferably with handling full set accounts.
  • Good communication skills in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin preferred.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and start immediately is advantageous.

Job description

Manage and assist in the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including but not limited to:

  • Month-end and year-end financial reporting
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable
  • Prepare general ledger journals (payroll, prepayments, accruals, depreciation)
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Monitor cash flow, banking, and payment matters
  • Conduct revenue and expenditure variance analysis
  • Reconcile balance sheets and related companies' accounts
  • Coordinate yearly group accounts consolidation
  • Implement and improve internal controls and compliance processes
  • Prepare audit schedules, tax filings, and regulatory submissions
  • Liaise with company secretary and maintain proper filing of annual returns and secretarial documents according to Companies Act 2016
  • Support finance-related projects and ad-hoc tasks as required

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting
  • At least 2 to 3 years of relevant working experience, preferably with handling full set accounts (AP/GL/AR) for a group of companies
  • Good communication skills in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin (preferable for managing vendor and legal documents in Chinese)
  • Proficient in Xero Accounting Software and Microsoft Excel
  • High initiative, detail-oriented, and able to meet tight deadlines
  • Able to start immediately (advantageous)
