We are seeking a meticulous and versatile Accounts Executive to manage the financial operations across a diverse group of associated companies involved in media, e-commerce, education, retail, and other industries. This role involves handling full sets of accounts, overseeing daily transactions, ensuring compliance, and supporting the unique financial needs of various business units.
Job Description
- Maintain full sets of accounts for all associated companies, ensuring timely and accurate recording of financial transactions.
- Manage daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and reconciliations.
- Track and reconcile sales transactions, payment gateway settlements, and order fulfilment records for e-commerce and retail operations.
- Monitor and track project budgets, including film productions, educational programs, marketing campaigns, and special initiatives.
- Coordinate with the HR department on monthly payroll matters, process payroll disbursements, and ensure timely payment to employees, freelancers, and contractors.
- Prepare and analyse financial reports including monthly, quarterly, and annual profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Reconcile company and project bank accounts, and monitor cash flow across all business units.
- Ensure full compliance with Malaysian tax regulations, including SST/GST submissions, income tax filings, and other statutory obligations.
- Assist in the preparation of financial documents for government grant applications, production incentives, and internal funding requests.
- Liaise with auditors, tax agents, and other external consultants during audits and regulatory reviews.
- Provide financial insights and cost analysis to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning across departments.
- Maintain proper documentation of all financial records, contracts, agreements, and statutory filings.
- Collaborate with various teams (production, legal, retail, education, and operations) to ensure alignment on financial and contractual commitments.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience; experience across multiple business segments is an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian financial and tax regulations.
- Proficient in SQL Accounting Software and Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with online payment gateways and e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, WooCommerce) is a plus.
- High attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple sets of accounts concurrently.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills; able to meet deadlines across varied projects and businesses.
