Job description

· Manage the full set of accounts, including month-end closing and the preparation of financial statements, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

· Prepare journal entries for financial closing in accordance with company accounting policies, with adequate supporting documentation.

· Ensure correct cost center allocation in the accounting system and maintain accuracy in all financial records for reporting and analysis.

· Handle Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), General Ledger (GL), and bank reconciliations to ensure financial data integrity.

· Ensure timely and accurate submission of monthly financial statements and management reports to support strategic decision-making.

· Oversee the annual statutory audit process and ensure timely submission of all statutory compliance requirements for Malaysian entities.

· Collaborate with external auditors, tax agents, company secretaries, bankers, and relevant authorities to ensure compliance with financial regulations.

· Liaise with internal departments and external clients as necessary to support financial operations and reporting needs.

· Assist management in identifying and implementing process improvements, and support team supervision efforts as required.

· Perform audit and tax analysis and compile other ad-hoc reports or financial analyses as assigned by management.

· Carry out other duties or tasks as required by the company from time to time on an ad-hoc basis.

Reporting Line:

Reports directly to the Manager – Finance & Accounts.

Qualifications

· A degree in Accountancy, Finance, or equivalent, demonstrating a solid foundation in financial principles. Partial or full professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, or equivalent are an added advantage.

· Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience in accounting or audit, preferably in an accounting firm. Candidates with less experience but strong potential are also encouraged to apply.

· Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards, principles, and procedures. Proficiency in accounting software such as SQL, as well as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

· Able to reconcile accounts, resolve discrepancies independently, and approach financial tasks with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

· Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

· Positive, proactive, and responsible, with a willingness to suggest improvements and support team objectives.
