Job summary

A logistics company is seeking an Accounts Assistant in Selangor, Malaysia. Responsibilities include processing accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and collaboration on various accounting tasks. Qualifications

  • Process supplier invoices and payments accurately and timely.
  • Post payments received and liaise with clients for outstanding invoices.
  • Perform daily bank reconciliation including credit card.

Job description
Overview

Within the position of Accounts Assistant, you will be required to perform various duties.

Responsibilities
  • Data processing for Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable, and management of debtors/creditors
  • Accounts Payable - posting supplier invoices with AI or manually and processing payment (AUD, USD and other foreign currencies) in a timely and accurate manner, in accordance with established procedures
  • Account Receivable - posting payment received (AUD and USD) in a timely and accurate manner; liaise with clients for outstanding invoices
  • Perform daily bank reconciliation including credit card
  • Perform reconciliation of suppliers’ statements
  • Assist with end of month duties
  • Assist with all accounting and administrative functions as assigned
  • Assist with ad hoc jobs as assigned
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years Account experience in a similar role is required
  • Forwarding / Shipping knowledge and experience is an advantage
  • Previous experience using computerised accounting systems and spreadsheets is required; experience in Cargowise is an advantage
  • Intermediate skill in Excel is a must, advance skill is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills, and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at a time with minimal supervision, effectively and efficiently
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
  • Willing to accept new challenges / jobs assigned
  • Proficient in English, fluent in English speaking is a must
