About the role

We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our dynamic team at Resources Surveys Services in Kuching, Sarawak. As a full-time role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining our financial records and supporting the overall accounting operations of the company.

Location: ICOM Square Area, Kuching, Sarawak

Salary Range: RM 2,000 - RM 6,000 (commensurate with experience and qualifications)

What you'll be doing

Review all financial records for accuracy and completeness, ensuring high standards of financial integrity.

Be the key person responsible for the accurate and timely issuance of e-invoices, ensuring compliance with LHDN (IRB) requirements and guidelines.

Collaborate with relevant departments to gather necessary information for e-invoice generation and submission, and monitor/resolve related discrepancies.

Manage and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

Ensure payment vouchers, invoices, and other financial transactions are supported by all related documents and accurately entered into the data system.

Accurately maintain all accounting ledgers, including journal entries and reconciliations.

Maintain the Fixed Assets Schedule.

Prepare comprehensive financial statements and reports.

Ensure the accurate and timely submission of Sales and Service Tax (SST) and other relevant tax filings.

Ensure strict compliance with accounting principles, statutory regulations, and company policies.

Liaise with auditors, tax agents, and external authorities as necessary, facilitating smooth audits and tax submissions.

Process payroll, manage employee benefits, and ensure compliance with statutory contributions (EPF, SOCSO, EIS).

Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly across all financial records and processes.

Contribute to the implementation and improvement of financial processes and internal controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Perform other ad-hoc accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

Minimum of 3-5 years of working experience in accounting or finance roles, demonstrating a strong understanding of full-set accounts.

Strong understanding of basic e-invoicing principles and ideally, some familiarity with Malaysian e-invoicing requirements (LHDN/IRB guidelines) or a strong willingness to quickly learn and adapt.

In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.

Proficiency in accounting software (AutoCount or similar) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate financial information clearly to various stakeholders.

High level of integrity, responsibility, and professionalism.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.

Proactive, results-oriented, and able to meet tight deadlines.
