We are looking for a proactive and experienced Accounts and Tax Senior Associate to lead and manage client accounting and tax engagements. This full-time role involves overseeing the work of junior staff, reviewing financial statements and tax filings, and providing expert advice to clients.
Leading and managing accounting and tax engagements for a portfolio of clients
Reviewing and finalizing financial statements (e.g. balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements)
Overseeing and reviewing tax computations and filings for both individuals and corporations
Providing expert tax planning and advisory services to clients
Monitoring and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and tax regulations
Reviewing general ledger reconciliations and resolving complex accounting issues
Guiding, training, and supervising junior team members to ensure quality and accuracy
Liaising with clients to address queries and provide professional advice
Identifying opportunities for process improvement and supporting implementation of accounting system enhancements
Staying updated with changes in tax laws and accounting standards
A degree in Accounting or a related field; professional qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA, ICAEW) are highly advantageous
Minimum 2–4 years of relevant experience in accounting and taxation, preferably in a professional services or accounting firm
Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles and tax regulations (including Malaysian tax laws)
Proven ability to manage client portfolios and lead junior staff
High level of accuracy, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in accounting software such as Autocount, SQL, or related platforms
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage clients and team members
Self-motivated, organised, and able to manage multiple deadlines
