Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the main contact person for coordinating company Financial Controller (FC) members and Shared Service Center (SSC) to capture, process, and report accurate financial information.
  • Oversee the full month-end closing process and ensure timely and accurate Financial Statement (FS) reporting for company.
  • Conduct product analysis in collaboration with Sales/Product Development, and respond to HQ Accounting queries.
  • Drive continuous improvement by optimizing GL processes and portfolio reconciliation accuracy.
  • Ensure portfolio and bank reconciliation gaps are minimal, justified, and resolved within expected timelines.
  • In charge of Bank Statements interface files, bank reconciliations checking for all MY & SG Cluster companies.
  • Lead preparation of working files and Audited Accounts, liaise with Auditors and Company Secretary to ensure a clean audit with no management letter.
  • Ensure company Balance Sheet open items are tracked, cleared, and fully justified.
  • Handle SST (Sales and Service Tax) configuration and ensure accurate bi-monthly submissions to Royal Malaysian Customs.
  • Liaise with the Accountant General department for accurate and timely reporting of unclaimed money.
  • Manage Cluster company Genesis data and respond to HQ inquiries.
  • Any other ad-hoc task as assigned by immediate supervisor.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum Degree in Finance/Accounting field or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in financial reporting or general ledger accounting.
  • Strong understanding of accounting standards, audit practices, and SST regulations.
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills to work across functions and with regional teams.
  • Well versed in using SAP
  • Fast learner in other systems that interface postings to SAP
  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Proactive and speak up.
  • Quick adaptability to the role and work environment.
