Description
Mercedes-Benz Services Malaysia Sdn Bhd (MBSM) provides finance, leasing, insurance, and back-office solutions that support the sales of Mercedes-Benz vehicles in Malaysia and Singapore. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Specialist to join our Finance & Controlling team as we continue to drive excellence across the Malaysia-Singapore region.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with MBSM Financial Controller (FC) members and Shared Service Center (SSC) to capture, process, and report accurate financial information.
- Oversee the full month-end closing process and ensure timely and accurate Financial Statement reporting.
- Conduct product analysis in collaboration with Sales/Product Development and respond to HQ accounting queries.
- Optimize GL processes and portfolio reconciliation accuracy for continuous improvement.
- Minimize and resolve portfolio and bank reconciliation gaps within expected timelines.
- Manage bank statement interface files and perform bank reconciliations for all MY & SG Cluster companies.
- Prepare working files and audited accounts; liaise with auditors and company secretary to ensure a clean audit with no management letter.
- Track, clear, and justify MBSM balance sheet open items.
- Handle SST configuration and ensure accurate bi-monthly submissions to Royal Malaysian Customs.
- Coordinate with the Accountant General department for reporting of unclaimed money.
- Manage Cluster company Genesis data and respond to HQ inquiries.
- Perform any other ad-hoc tasks as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum Degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent qualification.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in financial reporting or general ledger accounting.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong understanding of accounting standards, audit practices, and SST regulations.
- Excellent coordination and communication skills across functions and regions.
- Proficient in SAP and quick to learn other interfacing systems.
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
