Job summary

Baker Tilly Monteiro Heng PLT in Kuala Lumpur seeks an Accounting Associate to support daily accounting tasks, journal entries, and client engagements. You will help prepare records, reconciliations, and monthly/annual closings while assisting with payroll processing and SST/MBRS reporting.

The ideal candidate holds a recognized accounting degree with 1–3 years' experience, strong analytical skills, and fluency in English. A collaborative environment and growth opportunities are offered.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing accounting records, journal entries, and supporting schedules.
• Perform bank, debtor, and creditor reconciliations.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Assist in preparing financial reports in line with relevant standards.
• Assist in monthly payroll processing and reconciliation of payroll information.
• Support cash flow monitoring and basic budgeting tasks.
• Support SST-related tasks and MBRS reporting as required.
• Provide accounting and administrative support during secondment assignments.
• Assist with client onboarding and maintain documentation.
• Support ad hoc tasks to ensure smooth outsourcing services.

Job description

• Assist in the preparation of accounting records, journal entries, and supporting schedules.


• Perform bank, debtor, and creditor reconciliations.


• Support month-end and year-end closing activities.


• Assist in preparing financial reports in line with relevant standards.


• Assist in monthly payroll processing, including data updates and reconciliation of payroll information.


• Supporting cash flow monitoring and basic budgeting tasks.


• Supporting SST-related tasks and other routine assignments as needed.


• Prepare MBRS conversion files in compliance with SSM reporting requirements.


• Validate data accuracy and assist with timely MBRS submissions.


• Provide accounting and administrative support during secondment assignments as required.


• Assist with client onboarding activities and maintain proper documentation.


• Support ad hoc tasks to ensure smooth delivery of outsourcing services.

Job Requirements:

• Recognized University Degree and/or relevant professional qualification in Accounting, Finance or equivalent


• Minimum 1-3 years relevant experience is required for this position


• Strong technical ability, excellent interpersonal skills and leadership qualities


• Team player with strong sense of responsibility


• Ability to deliver under pressure and meet deadline


• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
