Job description

The Accounting and Reporting Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely execution of financial transactions and reporting activities for assigned legal entities. This role plays a key part in supporting financial close processes, maintaining compliance with internal policies and external regulations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and drive process improvements.

Description

  • Manage accounting and reporting activities for smaller entities, maintaining a solid understanding of their business operations and external environment to ensure accurate financial execution.
  • Coordinate and execute the timely recording of financial transactions (e.g., general ledger entries, journal postings) in alignment with corporate policies, procedures, and accounting standards.
  • Deliver financial reporting tasks related to month-end and year-end close, ensuring data integrity, timeliness, and compliance with group reporting requirements.
  • Monitor and follow up on open or overdue items, working with relevant teams to ensure prompt resolution.
  • Perform reconciliations and generate standard reports, including validation of data and investigation of variances or anomalies.
  • Identify and resolve routine operational issues; escalate more complex matters to the line manager or relevant stakeholders when necessary.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to deepen understanding of general ledger activities and support improvements in group reporting processes.
  • Coordinate with cross-centre teams on interdependent tasks and contribute to an integrated finance delivery model.
  • Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders as needed to ensure alignment and resolution of financial issues.
  • Contribute to finance-related projects or continuous improvement initiatives within the scope of the role.

Profile

  • Recognised professional accounting qualification or currently pursuing one (e.g. ACCA, CPA, CIMA).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in general and/or financial accounting, preferably within a shared services environment.
  • Working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP system is required.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.
  • Willingness to work UK business hours during quarter-end or peak close periods.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to manage tasks within tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
