Responsible for ensuring compliance with Inland Revenue regulations and other tax-related regulations, including but not limited to tax filings until the final tax true-up.
Maintain monthly records of tax movements (current and deferred tax).
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Compile information and prepare tax computations for the yearly submission of Petroleum and Corporate Income Tax returns for all entities.
Prepare tax true-up analysis after the submission of tax returns.
Prepare revisions for the 6th and 9th months for Petroleum and Corporate Income Tax Instalment Plans.
Ensure timely payment of monthly tax installments.
Prepare monthly current and deferred tax accruals for Petroleum tax provisions and perform monthly reconciliations.
Prepare returns for applicable Indirect Taxes, such as Sales and Service Tax and Sarawak Sales Tax.
Liaise with Tax Authorities on tax audits and ensure audits are finalized within stipulated timeframes.
Conduct tax research to develop an understanding of tax implications from various tax rulings.
Assist in other tax and accounting-related matters as required by the Finance Manager or Home Office.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Recognized Degree in Accounting or professional qualification in accounting.
Knowledge of preparing tax computations for the oil and gas industry.
Familiarity with Petroleum and Corporate Income Tax Acts.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with accurate information.
Minimum of 5 years relevant working experience.
Knowledge of SAP accounting systems is an advantage.
Experience in the oil and gas industry is preferred.
