Responsibilities
- Review monthly account closing to ensure timely and accurate recording of transactions in compliance with financial reporting standards and company policies.
- Perform consolidation of accounts for the Group.
- Assist in the preparation of accurate annual financial statements.
- Liaise with auditor and tax agents by providing necessary documentation and support.
- Lead the preparation of the annual consolidated group budget, coordinating with departments, regional teams, and subsidiaries.
- Conduct monthly variance analysis against budgets and forecasts to identify key drivers and provide actionable insights.
- Present financial analysis findings to management.
- Perform bank, intercompany, and balance sheet reconciliations on a regular basis.
- Oversee day-to-day GL operations, providing guidance and supervision to the finance GL team.
- Prepare and compute corporate tax, VAT/GST, and withholding tax obligations in accordance with local and international tax laws.
- Support regulatory filings, and assist in tax planning and transfer pricing for the Group.
- Ensure strict compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP), internal policies, and local regulatory requirements.
- Identify opportunities to automate accounting processes and implement effective internal controls.
- Support ad-hoc tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, or equivalent is preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in general ledger accounting or financial reporting, preferably within the telecommunications or services-based industry.
- Experience with full set of accounts and multi-entity/group consolidation.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax compliance, and financial analysis in a services context.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across teams and functions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with financial modeling and data visualization tools is a plus.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced tech environment.
- Must be based in Johor Bahru or willing to relocate.
