Job summary

Jabil Sdn Bhd (Global Business Center) in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking a cost accounting professional to maintain and analyze the cost accounting system, working independently with supervision from management.

You will review general ledger balances, prepare monthly cost accruals and forecasts, generate reports and communicate with functional areas, and support payroll cost analysis and general business condition reviews. Compliance with safety and company policies is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in cost accounting and financial reporting.

• Strong Excel skills and data analysis capability.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial software.

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for maintaining and analyzing the company’s cost accounting system and work independently with general supervision from management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review and analyzes general ledger account balances.
• Verify accuracy, makes recommendations for corrections.
• Prepare monthly cost accrual, reconciliation and balance sheets.
• Prepare, analyze and select methods of presenting various financial data.
• Prepare timely reports and communication with functional areas.
• Prepare forecast, workcell statements, and flux analysis.
• Train other employees both within and outside the department.
• Responsible for maintaining and analyzing the company’s cost accounting system.
• Prepare forecasts and analyze trends in payroll cost and benefits and general business conditions.
• Review and analyze information for the preparation of financial statements, ledgers, reports and taxes for reasonableness.
• May support other areas within Finance/others department as required to meet department goals.
• Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
• Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.
• May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

• Ability to operate a personal computer including using a Windows based operating system and related software.
• Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabil’s software packages.

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
• Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
