About the job: Accountant (Based in Papua New Guinea)

Company Background

We are representing our client, one of the largest construction machinery companies in the world. Due to their current business expansion, they are looking to fill the position of Accountant (Executive/Senior Executive) based in Papua New Guinea.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the Accounts Manager in the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and inventory.
  2. Ensure adherence to internal controls, policies, processes, and procedures.
  3. Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements, on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  4. Recommend and implement improvements to finance processes and internal controls.
  5. Assist with proper documentation of accounting policies and procedures.
  6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date statements of account (SOA).
  7. Complete monthly reconciliations of bank statements, debtors, creditors, and inter-company balances.
  8. Assist with cash flow forecasting and cash management activities.

Requirements:

  1. Diploma/Degree in Accounting/Finance or an equivalent professional qualification.
  2. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar accounting role handling full sets of accounts.
  3. Experience working in Papua New Guinea is an advantage.
  4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  5. Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  6. Willing to be based in Papua New Guinea.
  7. Open to Malaysian candidates only.
