Role Summary

The main responsibility of the Accountant is to manage the accounting and financial activities within the organization, providing financial information to management to support financial and general decision-making. This is achieved by collecting, analyzing, and reporting financial data.

Job Responsibilities

Professional Competencies (Duties and Tasks)

  1. Accounting & Reporting - Prepares statements by collecting and analyzing data, investigating variances and trends
  2. Document financial transactions by entering account information
  3. Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options
  4. Gather and monitor financial data (e.g., sales revenues, expenditures, and liabilities)
  5. Analyze data, investigate variances, summarize data, information, and trends
  6. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual statements (balance sheets and income statements)
  7. Monitor and report on accounting discrepancies
  8. Create KPI reports
  9. Provide financial advice by studying operational issues, applying financial principles, and developing recommendations
  10. Conduct detailed risk analyses to assess potential investments
  11. Prepare weekly cash flow statements
  12. Support financial forecasting and risk analysis
  13. Assist with the preparation of month-end and year-end accounts close processes
  14. Assist in organizing and carrying out internal audits
  15. Manage tax issues and payments, including tax reporting and inventory processing
  16. Ensure compliance with state and federal tax filing requirements by studying regulations, adhering to requirements, and advising management on necessary actions
  17. Calculate quarterly estimated tax payments and assemble data for quarterly and annual tax filings
  18. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying legislation, enforcing adherence, and advising management
  19. Manage financial inquiries by gathering, interpreting, and preparing data
  20. Prepare special reports by studying variances, preparing budgets, and developing forecasts
  21. Advise on estimates for project funding
  22. Research and interpret accounting policies and regulations to answer procedure questions
  23. Contribute to improvement work according to the Scania Way (SRS) framework, understanding and acting accordingly
  24. Maintain normal operations, detect deviations, and act immediately to eliminate them
  25. Contribute to daily follow-up and steering
  26. Participate in and contribute to improvement activities based on standardized working methods

Desirable Experience And Qualifications

  • Relevant education or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in a similar role is an advantage
  • Fluent in English

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Level 6
