Job Responsibilities and Requirements: -
We are seeking an experienced and dynamicAccountant/Finance Managerto lead the Finance function for a group of companies with diverse business activities, including the trading of engineering products. The ideal candidate will be responsible for oversee financial operations across the group, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective budgeting, and strategic financial planning. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of financial management, and the ability to drive business performance through insightful analysis and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management and Reporting:
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement of group companies.
- Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes across all entities.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual management packs, including detailed business analysis and performance metrics
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to develop realistic and achievable budgets.
- Monitor budget performance, analyze variances, and provide actionable recommendations to management.
- Develop financial forecasts and scenarios to support strategic decision-making and long-term planning.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance team across the group, including junior staff members, to ensure high performance and professional growth.
- Delegate tasks effectively and ensure the team meets deadlines and deliverables.
- Foster a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
- Business Analysis and Strategic Support:
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for business improvement.
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior management to support business growth and profitability.
- Evaluate investment opportunities, cost-saving initiatives, and operational efficiencies.
- Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard group assets and ensure financial integrity across all entities.
- Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities to facilitate audits and ensure timely submissions.
- Cash Flow and Treasury Management:
- Monitor and manage cash flow across the group, ensuring sufficient liquidity for operational needs and strategic investments.
- Oversee banking relationships, credit facilities, and foreign exchange transactions.
- Optimize working capital management to improve financial stability and efficiency.
- Stakeholder Communication:
- Act as a key point of contact for financial matters, providing clear and concise information to stakeholders, including senior management, board members, and investors.
- Present financial results, forecasts, and strategic recommendations in meetings and presentations.
- Ad Hoc Tasks:
- Assist with any ad hoc tasks or projects as assigned by senior management, such as financial modeling, process improvement initiatives, or special analysis.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Candidate must possess at least Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., MIA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) is required.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role.
- Experience in the trading, manufacturing, or engineering industry is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SQL, Autocount, QuickBooks, or equivalent) and advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros, financial modeling).
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
