Intel Corporation in Malaysia, Penang, is seeking an Accountant on a 12-month contract to support monthly close, reconciliations, and financial analysis within a hybrid work model.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance and at least 3 years of relevant experience, with proficiency in SAP and MS Excel/PowerPoint, plus knowledge of US GAAP. CPA/ACCA/MIA/MICPA membership is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Finance.
• Min 3 years of relevant professional experience with a Bachelor's degree.
• Proficiency in SAP or equivalent ERP systems.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of US GAAP compliance and financial reporting standards.
• Member or pursuing membership in professional accounting bodies such as CPA, ACCA, MICPA, or MIA.

Responsabilités

• Support month-end close activities by preparing and posting journal entries, reviewing financial transactions, and ensuring activities are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, investigate reconciling items, and resolve outstanding balances in a timely manner.
• Assist with variance analysis and financial reporting by identifying unusual fluctuations and supporting management reporting.
• Support internal and external audit activities by preparing schedules and responding to requests.
• Maintain and update accounting procedures, process documentation, and work instructions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and support process improvements.
• Participate in finance system implementations, upgrades, and validation activities.

The primary responsibility is to support the monthly financial close process by ensuring financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner. The role will work closely with business partners and other Finance teams to maintain the integrity of the company's financial records while supporting day-to-day accounting operations. Key Responsibilities: Month-End Close: Support month-end close activities by preparing and posting journal entries, reviewing financial transactions, and ensuring assigned accounting activities are completed accurately and on schedule. Account Reconciliations: Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, investigate reconciling items, and work with relevant stakeholders to resolve outstanding balances in a timely manner. Financial Analysis: Assist with variance analysis and financial reporting by identifying unusual fluctuations, researching discrepancies, and supporting management reporting requirements. Audit Support: Support internal and external audit activities by preparing supporting schedules, providing documentation, and responding to audit requests. Process Documentation: Maintain and update accounting procedures, process documentation, and work instructions to ensure they remain current and accurate. Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Operations, Procurement, HR, and other business stakeholders, to resolve accounting issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
