Accountant

Gear Inc. is looking for an Accountant to join our team with responsibilities and requirements as follows:

Responsibilities:

1. Manage full sets of accounts (AR, AP, GL)
2. Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
3. Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and forecasts
4. Monitor budget variances and implement corrective actions when necessary
5. Reconcile banks, inter-company accounts, accounts payable, and receivable
6. Ensure timely payments and maintenance of fixed assets register
7. Compute taxes and prepare tax returns
8. Report on the company's financial health and liquidity
9. Communicate with the accounts team and outsource vendors in other countries
10. Comply with financial policies and regulations
11. Contribute to the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and guidelines
12. Perform any other tasks delegated from time to time

Requirements and Skills:

1. Preferably ACCA/CIMA/CPA & MIA members, with at least 5 years of experience
2. Good knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures
3. Hands-on experience with accounting software Xero is an advantage
4. Proficiency in accounting software and Google Suite
5. Good communication skills - fluent in English, Malay, and Mandarin languages preferred for effective communication with Mandarin-speaking clients
6. Regional accounting experience is a plus
7. Quick to adapt and flexible, open to learning new skills, a team player who can also work independently when required
8. Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
9. Able to work remotely
