Accountant

About the role

This is a full-time Accountant position at SHOP ASIA E-COMMERCE SDN.BHD. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the company's financial accounting and reporting, playing a vital role in maintaining financial health and compliance.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing and maintaining accurate financial records, including general ledgers, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Producing timely and reliable financial statements, such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
• Assisting in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses to support decision-making.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to provide financial guidance.
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes and implementing efficient accounting practices.
• Providing ad-hoc financial reports and analyses as needed.

What we're looking for

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience in financial accounting and reporting, preferably in e-commerce.
• Proficiency in accounting software and spreadsheet applications.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, with a proactive approach.
• Familiarity with Malaysian accounting standards and tax regulations.
