About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team at NPC Resources Berhad in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. As an Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the company's financial accounting and reporting functions. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the overall financial management and strategic direction of the organisation.

Tasks & responsibilities

1. Preparing and reviewing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
2. Ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions
3. Reconciling accounts and maintaining detailed financial records
4. Assisting in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
5. Providing analytical support and insights to management
6. Liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and regulatory bodies
7. Contributing to the implementation of financial policies and procedures
8. Identifying opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements

Qualifications & experience

• Degree in Finance/Accounting or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in financial accounting and reporting
• Strong understanding of financial accounting principles, standards, and regulations
• Knowledge in plantation accounts management will be an added advantage
• Proficient in using accounting software and spreadsheet applications
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and a meticulous approach to work
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
