Job Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all accounting functions.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with internal controls and industry best practices.
- Oversee the preparation and filing of tax returns, ensuring compliance with local tax laws and regulations.
- Conduct regular budget analysis and forecasting to provide insights into financial performance and support strategic decision-making.
- Perform detailed account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner, maintaining the integrity of financial data.
- Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and ensure compliance with auditing standards.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, demonstrating a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in preparing and analyzing financial statements in compliance with relevant standards.
- Solid experience in bookkeeping, ensuring accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Experience in developing and managing budgets, monitoring variances, and providing financial analysis.
- Knowledge of Malaysian taxation laws and regulations, with experience in preparing and filing tax returns (e.g., SST, Corporate Tax, Individual Tax).
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide clear recommendations.
- Fluency in English, Mandarin, and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken.
- Strong understanding of accounting software: Autocount.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion with sensitive financial information.
- Willingness to work onsite in Johor Bahru.
- Experience in managing and overseeing accounting operations and supporting strategic financial planning.
