Job summary

Intel in Malaysia, Penang, is seeking an Accountant to support financial accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence. You will prepare and analyze records, assist with month-end and year-end closes, and deliver insights to support informed decisions in a fast-paced, global environment.

This 12-month contract emphasises internal controls, SOX compliance, and cross‑functional collaboration. Fresh graduates are welcome; 1–2 years double-entry experience and SAP proficiency are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

• Proficiency in SAP or equivalent ERP systems.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with US GAAP compliance and financial reporting standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain financial records in compliance with US GAAP, internal policies, and applicable local accounting standards.
• Support monthly and annual financial close processes, including preparing and posting journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Conduct detailed analyses of financial data to produce reports for internal and external stakeholders, including statutory and regulatory filings.
• Collaborate with external auditors, government authorities, and other stakeholders during audits and reporting cycles to ensure compliance and transparency.
• Ensure robust internal controls and drive adherence to defined accounting procedures, including compliance with SOX requirements.
• Identify and implement process improvement and automation opportunities to enhance operational efficiency.
• Participate in system upgrades and enhancements, including data validation and user acceptance testing.
• Serve as a key point of contact for finance-related inquiries, collaborating with cross-functional teams to address unique transactions and automation projects.
