Job title: Account Manager – Asia Pacific (Chinese OEMs)

“This is an exciting, newly created position to lead the commercial activities with Chinese OEMs outside of China primarily, in the Asia Pacific region.”

Hiring Manager: Fei

Hybrid and flexible working conditions (when possible with the local regulations) to ensure a balanced work and home life, with some travel to customers in Asia Pacific.

Location: Thailand, Malaysia, and India

Role Type: Permanent – Hybrid (mainly working from home) within reasonable commute distance to a GKN Automotive location

Travel: 25%-50% in Asia Pacific

Role Responsibilities

Supporting the Account Director for Chinese OEMs, this role is crucial for future value creation and customer retention within our largest and fastest-growing customer base in the Asia Pacific region. Your main responsibilities include:

  1. Leading business development and key account activities with Chinese OEMs to establish strategic relationships and meet business objectives, ROIC, and margin targets.
  2. Collaborating closely with GKN Automotive’s JV partner in China (SDS) to achieve company goals.
  3. Supporting non-Chinese OEMs within the region as part of account management duties.
Key Success Factors
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Experience in customer-focused roles within international manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to understand and clarify customer needs and requirements.
  • Experience with regional budgets and negotiations.
  • Ambitious and proactive mindset.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a remote setting.
  • Experience working with Chinese OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers is highly advantageous.
