Job description

Job Purpose and Impact

The Account Manager will, with guidance, sell directly to customers in the assigned categories and country to achieve business targets, including revenue, profitability, and new business in the food ingredients space of Cargill Food Ingredients and Bio-industrial Enterprise. In this role, you will conduct face-to-face and remote sales with new and existing customers, assist in evaluating customer needs, and suggest appropriate products, services, and solutions.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Manage accounts as assigned in specified categories and country, including driving business growth, performing sales execution, growing/maintaining share of wallet, and winning new business to achieve strategic goals.
  2. Work closely with the Sales Leader to develop short- to medium-term sales strategies and implement sales plans.
  3. Protect, grow, and diversify relationships with targeted customers.
  4. Partner with various functions such as technical, product line management, pricing, operations, supply chain, risk management, and marketing to achieve targets.
  5. Develop a strong pipeline for business growth by unlocking opportunities, becoming customer experts, discovering unmet needs or jobs-to-be-done, and executing the pipeline with cross-functional teams.
  6. Gain in-depth industry and local market knowledge.
  7. Identify potential customers and manage existing customer relationships.
  8. Monitor customer, competitor activity, and industry trends.
  9. Resolve moderately complex issues independently, escalating more complex issues appropriately.

Qualifications - Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of two years of related work experience
  • Additional minimum qualifications may apply
