Job summary

A leading retail company in Malaysia is seeking a qualified finance professional to manage payroll reconciliations and prepare month-end financial reports. The role involves liaising with external parties, assisting in recruitment, and monitoring cost management efforts. Applicants should possess relevant experience in accounting and be prepared to contribute to financial procedures.

Qualifications

  • Experience as an account executive or full set accountant is required.
  • Experience in budget control is a plus.
  • Strong ability in reconciliation tasks is needed.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly payroll reconciliation and ensure accurate recording of allowances and deductions.
  • Prepare month-end financial reports including Trial Balance and Profit & Loss statement.
  • Monitor monthly utility bills and reconcile subsidiaries' ledgers with general ledger accounts.

• Prepare monthly payroll reconciliation based on HR schedule. Ensure all allowances and deductions are accurately recorded in the ledger.

• Reclassify own consumption costs into expenses ledger account.

• Prepare month-end closing and a full set of accounts.

• Monitor monthly utility bills (water, electricity, telephone) for closing.

• Reconcile subsidiaries' ledgers with the general ledger accounts.

• Monitor and prepare schedules for Balance Sheet items such as FA, prepayments, accruals, clearing accounts, deposits, and other related items for closing.

• Prepare and finalize month-end financial reports – Trial Balance, Profit & Loss statement, Balance Sheet, and OPEX analysis.

• Conduct BIC briefing on branch performance, highlighting and clarifying branch issues.

• Prepare and monitor MFRS16 reports monthly, including expiry of TAs and follow-up on renewals.

• Liaise with external parties regarding finance matters (e.g., auditors, company secretary, bankers).

• Liaise with internal departments regarding finance matters (e.g., section departments, branches).

• Assist in staff recruitment.

• Maintain proper filing of all finance documents.

• Perform ad hoc assignments as required.

• Monitor Cost Cutting ledger against budget, prepare report cards, and send to stakeholders monthly.

• Meet with stakeholders monthly to discuss report card status on Cost Cutting.
